| Info: | If you want a simple security system for a flat or perhaps a boat, and don’t want to spend time and money running wires around the house, something like this wireless alarm might be just right. It comes with all the features you’d expect from a higher end system: 8 separate zones, 120dB siren, a keychain fob for arming/disarming, a passive infra-red sensor, and two door sensors. You can purchase additional sensors to expand the system beyond the initial configuration. The main downside is all the sensors require batteries to operate, but the system does work as advertised. |

The Inferno sound barrier takes the basic piezo siren a step further. Using multiple moving frequencies at more than 125dB, the Inferno seriously disorientates an intruder, causing them to leave the area rather than stay and complete their intended task. I was rather skeptical, but after an extremely brief listen of this Swedish military technology, I’d be surprised if any thief sticks around to have their ears assaulted for more than a couple of seconds. |
