Interorbital Systems – TubeSat Personal Satellite Kit
"...the price of the TubeSat kit actually includes the price of a launch into Low-Earth-Orbit on an IOS NEPTUNE 30 launch vehicle".

I never thought I'd see cheap (by which I mean I could possibly afford it if I was keen enough), commercial satellite launches in my lifetime. Go commercial space flight go!
What was the lead time between Sputnik and Apollo 11. Hmmm Sputnik was '57 according to wiki. So crystal balling it we'll have cheap (again, that I can afford) commercial space flight by ~2021?
Good lord, they even accept PayPal payment? Be interesting to see how the first launch goes.
Apart from experimentation, I can't see what you'd use it for. I presume they are not geosynchronous (no station-keeping), so it's no good as a post-apocalyptic backup radio repeater.
Still, very cool.
I was thinking along the lines of Tomrrow Never Dies - a fake GPS satellite that sends out confusing signals. Hours of fun...
I just think it's a superb opportunity for schools and universities I guess to do orbital experiments. Two weeks before de-orbit is plenty of time to do some interesting science imho.
