Eww. And ouch. That photo looks horrible.
Are there any comparable handhelds out there using the same or similar 3D chipset? Maybe the combination of tight space and the heat from the 3D chip and battery are to blame, but you'd think that would be the same for any handheld of similar specs.
And you'd think that Apple would have run these things at full clatter for hours at a time to test the heat output.
Yeah, but they probably stopped short of killing a major pop star and filling up the twittersphere. :-)
Only so many use cases you can practically test! ;-)

May only affect certain batches.
