Widely telegraphed, the Nexus One has now been officially released. Unfortunately the page gives a big fat "not available in your country".
Google announced during the launch event that Vodafone has joined their direct-sales "program". We can presume in this context that "Vodafone" probably means "Europe" and not necessarily NZ.
I've asked Vodafone directly and will update when I get a reply.
Mauricio speculates on what versions/frequencies will be available.

just use an ip blocker program so the google site doesnt think your in america. thatl get you into the store on the website however they only ship to american addresses, thats where shipito comes in and you use their address and they will forward the phone to you when they recieve it off google, beats waiting for any carrier to get it here

Got one this week from parallel imports on the north shore

I got there last one, but more arriving.
My quick notes are:
Wow its pretty slick, very fast, multi tasks a dream and appears to be a lot of Apps available on the "Android Market"
It running Android 2.1 so i believe a lot of bugs have been sorted.
Some cool features are once you sign in to the Facebook app it will auto pull your facebook friends photos and load into your corresponding contact list.
Its runs slicker than my ipod touch and as I'm not a apple/Mac fan i bet this will be a winner.
Appears to have a couple of small issues, firstly on charging it gets pretty hot.
It will sync easily with Microsoft Exchange contacts and emails but there is no Exchange calendar which will annoy the heavy business user.
There is a third part App that google recommends that can sort that out though, havnt tried this yet.
Also like my last Blackberry Bold anything on 3g sucks power big time, and since i will probably use this more than my blackberry its going to need recharging frequently.

Yeah.. same with HTC magic.
Wifi not as big a drain as 3G I've found on my HTC Magic with Android 1.6.
GPS is the biggest battery killer.
I usually have it in a cheapo Disk Smith cradle and plugged into the car power socket when doing battery intensive stuff like bluetooth stereo and GPS anyhow.
