Although the article doesn't say whether the Aussie one is a full moving platform. Surely it must be?
Probably, although fixed base sims aren't uncommon.
The original F-18 sim at McDonnel Douglas used to have a cockpit on a six-axis arm in the middle of a projection dome.
Now THAT's what I'm talking about!
For contrast, the old Rediffusion 737-200 full motion sim at Air NZ in the eighties used to run on PDP-11's with punch tape.
IIRC the avionics guys had wired up a Commodore Vic-20 to the keypunch machine, so they could store programs on the cassette tape.
Or was that the F-27? Dang, can't remember!
