Telecom Announces Partnership with Xero

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Telecom, in a conference call with Rod Drury this morning, has announced a partnership with local accounting SAAS provider Xero to help support local small businesses. Initially set up as a joint marketing push through Telecom’s BusinessHub website, the partnership will eventually offer tight integration between Telecom and Xero.

Xero CEO Rod Drury commented that “one of the big challenges in the small business space is getting our message out to market. … the banks and carriers are a really good way to get the message out.” Speaking about the future possibilities for the partnership, Rod added “blurring accounting with mobility and broadband [opens] a whole lot of other business opportunities like CRM and unified communications”

Victoria Crone, Head of Business Marketing for Telecom added “By adding access to Xero from our Business Hub, our customers know we are providing them with the best tools in the marketplace to help their business succeed.

“We’ve watched Xero since they were a start up, now they’ve developed into a world class product, so naturally we’re delighted to find a best in field offering right on our doorstep”

By mid-November, customers can take advantage of a free, no obligation, 60-day trial of Xero available exclusively through the Telecom Business Hub.
