Nokia N95 Superphone
The term ’smartphone’ is officially obsolete, especially when you read the specs of the recently announced Nokia N95:
5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, 802.11g WiFi, HSDPA, microSD, 150MB of internal memory and pretty much any other spec you could ever care to have stuffed into your phone
It appears to ‘only’ have a QVGA screen, which is a disappointment after the gorgeous super hi-res screens on the N80 and E70, but I guess we can’t have everything.
I like the way they’ve used a two-way slider to expose either the multimedia controls (slide the front down), or the phone keyboad (slide the front up). Originally I would say that this type of slider is just asking to fall apart, but if you’ve played with the slider on the N80 you’ll realise Nokia has some magic juju when it comes to implementing robust sliders.

I have to say I had a very different experience with the N95.
Big yes, but also a real disappointment in terms of quality, usability and design. I sent mine back within just a few days, having never ventured outside with it. I whacked down over £400 for it and quickly realised it just wasn’t worth it.
What’s really surprising though, is how good you found the still camera vs. the video cam.
I thought the vid-mode was excellent, (the only thing I did like in fact), but the still shots were just marginally better than the W800i – which I’m now back to using.
Each to their own I guess!

I’d still like to see the N95 juts to see what’s it’s like…hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll see this here in Ireland
The N95 is a great phone, it just shouldn’t be called a smartphone.
