Stringer Confirms PS3 Delay

Oops. Looks like Sony got a bit too funky with the Cell processor. The “PlayStation 3 was widely expected to be introduced this spring, but will be delayed as the company fine-tunes the chips that are crucial to the success of the console’s Blu-ray function”.

I reckon that’s a smokescreen. Word around the traps is that the Cell is damn hard to code for, and even the specialised compiler is having trouble getting the most out of it.
