Visual Studio 2005 in November

Friday, June 17th, 2005

This announcement snuck in under my radar. It’s not so much exciting as important. As a developer working with .NET daily, I’ve been hanging out for the updated features in the 2.0 revision of the .NET Framework. Finally Microsoft have announced a release date for 2.0, in the form of Visual Studio 2005:

During my Tech?Ed keynote this morning, I announced that SQL Server? 2005, Visual Studio? 2005 and BizTalk? Server 2006 will launch the week of November 7. This will be the biggest launch ever for these products, and we?re very excited to deliver them to you.

So I guess November 2005 is just enough leeway to still call a product by the 2005 moniker? Car manufacturers would never get away with it :)
