Sony has delayed the US release of their PS2/tivo/DVD/frankenconsole combo thingy. Otherwise known as the PSX.
My take on this is that Sony needs to stretch out the life of the PS2 as much as they can to cover for the likely lag time between the XBox21 and the PS3. What they should do instead is stop doing freaky proprietary stuff and instead focus on releasing new takes on good old tech like the walkman.

1. Although Stu offered me a sucker’s bet that the next XBox will be called anything but “XBox 2″. Can anyone honestly imagine Microsoft releasing a console called 2 when Sony is releasing a PS3?
